Taychreggan began life as a humble 17th century cattle drovers inn, built on a small peninsula that juts out into the loch. It was from here, at Loch Awe’s narrowest crossing point, the cattle would swim across.

Still laying claims to its ancestral origins, today the old stonehouse, situated on its own 40 acres of garden and woodlands, offers far more than the humble hospitality of the past.
