Wildlife
photography with Philip Price

Lorn Life Magazine
Summer 2005
An
award-winning wildlife photographer from Argyll has developed a new business
for visitors to the area.
Twenty-six-year-old
Philip Price has this summer launched the Loch Visions experience on the banks
of Loch Awe, at Kilchrenan, near Taynuilt. He teaches camera enthusiasts of all
ability how to snap wildlife in its natural habitat during a captivating day-long
adventure.
Philip
provides his students with a digital SLR camera and all the equipment they need
to snap the area's varied wildlife. He has exclusive access to 22 acres of unspoilt
private woodland to photograph everything from voles to deer, lichens to wildflowers,
ospreys to woodpeckers, butterflies to red squirrels and everything in between.
After a tutorial on the basics of photography and how to use the camera, visitors
can explore the purpose built photographic zones on the banks of Loch Awe in the
morning.
And,
following a picnic lunch, the afternoon is spent in the digital studio editing
and printing the images. Everyone goes away with a CD containing all their own
photographs and one high quality print out of their favourite. Philip said: Argyll
is such a beautiful part of the world, I'm keen to share my enthusiasm and technical
knowledge to help people have a fun day out as well as learning a new skill. He
added: Visitors are always looking for something memorable to take home from their
holiday and what can be nothing better than a stunning photograph they have taken
themselves?
The
Loch Visions Experience is available any day of the week through out the winter
and summer (no minimum number, a maximum of 6).
In
the summer you can uniquely book a next day experience (if there are spaces available).
In the winter at least a week's notice is recommended.
