Display of wartime and peacetime photographs, uniforms and memorabilia, etc.; several other features of interest relating to Oban area and beyond; models of:- Sunderlands, Catalinas, Halifaxes and other Aircraft; Ships ; Tanks. Successful exhibition established by volunteers in 1995 to commemorate 50th Anniversaries of VE; VJ Days. Extended to show items relating to other periods of interest and to various services and activities. Free admission.

Easdale Island Folk Museum
Open until 31st October
The museum is housed in a building which is similar to the original slate quarrier's cottages. Although small, it covers every aspect of life during the sixty years when the quarries were at their most productive and, in addition, seeks to record the day to day activities of the present community. Much archive material is too fragile to be permanently on display but where possible facsimiles are on view. Some records are on microfilm and these together with certain manuscripts may be seen on request. NOTE: The Duke or Argyll recently sold this island and rumours are the museum will not longer be open to the public. We will update when we have more information.
